Gamalakhe police are investigating a case of culpable homicide after a woman (29) was allegedly knocked down by a taxi while walking on Mpovuza Road in Qinabout, Gamalakhe last Friday (August 15).

Witnesses to the incident are urgently needed.

According to police, the victim was declared dead on the scene by paramedics.

They added that the taxi also crashed into a nearby house, however, no one was injured.

Also, no one has been charged as yet.

The investigating officer, Detective Warrant Officer Joey Nair, is appealing for any witnesses to the accident to contact him on 039 318 1130 or 083 5901511.
