Water pipeline project causes lane closure on N2 between Park Rynie and Sezela

It will affect both the northbound and southbound lanes, from August 26 to November 28.

The South African National Roads Agency SOC Limited (Sanral) has announced a partial lane closure on the N2 between the Park Rynie interchange and Sezela. This closure is due to the installation of a pipe bridge onto the Umzinto River bridge as part of the South Coast Pipeline phase 2B project.

This construction conducted by uMngeni-uThukela Water will bring much-needed relief in terms of water supply to the South Coast region of KwaZulu-Natal.

The partial lane closures will take place as follows:
* N2 northbound (Port Shepstone to Durban) partial lane closure from August 26 to November 28.
* N2 southbound (Durban to Port Shepstone) partial lane closure from August 26 to November 28.

Heavy motor vehicles and abnormal load vehicles are urged to take note that the maximum lane width available will be 3.5m. Motorists are asked to ensure that they are aware of the lane closure and possible disruptions to traffic and plan their trips accordingly.

Road Traffic Inspectorate (RTI) will manage and monitor both lanes for the full duration. Sanral apologises for any inconvenience caused.
