Non-profit makes positive impact on pets in Mzamba

Dr Dave Watson and the team brings better health to the area's four-legged residents.

Another successful steri day was held in Mzamba recently, where 29 dogs and cats were sterilised, alongside one sheep tail dock and one goat castration.

Once again, several transmissible venereal tumour cases were treated – a sobering reminder of how urgently sterilisation campaigns are still needed in the area.

In true Wild Coast style, the day even included a surprise moment of joy – a goat gave birth right next to the steri venue.

Some dogs were ‘Ubered’ in wheelbarrows and taxied home by 4x4s, as the walk home after a long day in the sunshine and a sterilisation proved too much for the tired pups.

The dedicated team led by Dr Dave Watson, worked tirelessly to ensure every animal was cared for with compassion and professionalism.

Linda Dunn Livesay of Transkei Animal Welfare Initiative (TAWI) thanked Glen Lorain From Tassie With Love, and all the volunteers who made the day possible – helping bring hope, health, and kindness to Mzamba’s four-legged residents.
