ANC meets at summit in Uvongo to bring hope to the people

ANC Tolomane Mnyayiza region convener, Dixie Nciki, said their theme is to put people first.

ANC Tolomane Mnyayiza region hosted a local government summit, which brought together municipal leaders, technocrats and ANC cadres, to discuss ideas and strategies at a gathering at the Uvongo Town Hall last Sunday.

According to the region’s convener, Dixie Nciki, their theme is to put people first by taking services to them and also taking accountability.

ANC KZN chairperson, Siboniso Duma.

Nciki said it’s about bringing hope to the people as they are preparing for the local government elections.

“We are not saying we are now starting to work, but we will start by reminding people of what we have done as the ANC. All the services given to the people have been provided by the ANC, such as water, sanitation and electricity.”

Nciki added that councillors have been tasked to go back to their municipalities and make sure that they close the gap between communities and themselves.

ANC members Sthembile Fica and Mosley Lubanyana.

ANC KZN chairperson Siboniso Duma shared similar views.

“We are here today to self introspect. This region has had so much progress, but we know that the main issue in the Ugu district is water, up until such time the big projects are completed. Our municipalities also have challenges such as roads and bridges.”

Duma added the ANC is a people’s party and their job is to remind people that it fought for the dignity of African people and for free education.

He concluded that those who have yet not received service delivery will eventually get them.
