Time to rest and remember

Everyone awaits December in anticipation of a time of rest, relaxation and reprieve after a long, stressful year of work.

It is that time of year again where the media, electronic and otherwise, is replete with articles, explanations, opinions and biblical doctrine as to why Jesus was born.

Everyone awaits December in anticipation of a time of rest, relaxation and reprieve after a long, stressful year of work.

In this zone it is so easy to forget the true reason for this period – that God sent His Son in the form of a man so that man could have identity with God and reflect Him through his daily living.

The features of God were concentrated in man so that God could become identifiable in man and be a reflection of Him to the world.

So, even in our celebrations, partying and festivities, let us not forget that it is not a baby we remember but the God of the universe Himself, coming as a man, to give us an example to live by; a pattern that reflects light, righteousness and the veritable image of Him.

May joyous festivities surround you and yours in this season.
