Youth enjoy educational day out in Scottburgh

It was all about conservation awareness, and fun, of course.

Youth from Amahlongwa, Amandawe, Mtwalume and Malangeni gathered in Scottburgh for a day of conservation awareness and fun last week.

Crocworld Conservation Centre hosted the community outreach initiative alongside Made for More, Wild Alliance Africa and Mission Blue.

Made for More works to include, equip and empower people with disabilities through community, faith and sport. They connected with the wildlife conservation facility and NPOs for animal interactions and educational sessions on biodiversity and conservation challenges.

The programme highlighted the importance of the local Marine Protected Area: Aliwal Shoal, which is a Mission Blue Hope Spot, one of the world’s critical marine ecosystems.

The day ended with a scenic and educational visit to the Green Point Lighthouse in Clansthal.
