Reviving Paradise: Calendar competition, can you spot the typo?
Calendars are available from Port Edward to Pennington, through various outlets and kind distributors.
Thank you to everyone who assisted with making The Green Net’s 2026 KZN Biodiversity calendar a reality.
Gratitude to the generous sponsors, production, design and to all our wonderful supporters who encouraged us to continue through this fourth edition, and all who have already bought copies to oftentimes add to their growing collection – you are all truly appreciated.
The calendar is the result of months of preparation and is the final product of a wonderful team effort – drawing on Chris Viljoen’s research, Joan Gallagher’s wise guidance, and features one of my favourite paintings on the cover.
Through this continuing journey, with all its twists and turns, we continue to learn, pivot and share information – driven by an absolute love for the incredible plants we are blessed to share our space with, the ecosystems they support, and the unique beauty of our spectacular natural environment.
January’s indigenous gem is a gorgeous local favourite, with pretty flowers and heady perfume. One of 10 jasmines indigenous to South Africa, it makes beautiful hedges that attract an abundance of bees, butterflies and insectivorous birds to the garden.
Despite our many and sincere efforts to produce a flawless calendar, a typo slipped through in the description of our lovely jasmine – sorry for us, but lucky for someone else, because now we can have a little competition! One lucky reader with a sharp eye will win one of these stunning plants during January.
If you find the typo, please send a brief text with your answer and name to Joan on 083 2667953 (preferably WhatsApp) or joangallagher18.jg@gmail.com by Monday, January 26, for the draw to take place on the 27th.
We’ll announce the winner in our column at the end of January.

You are welcome to contact Joan to find the one closest to you to get a copy for yourself and a friend, while stocks last.
