Missing Umtentweni woman’s family appeals for information

Lihle Khahla disappeared some five months ago.

An Umtentweni family is still desperately searching for answers after the disappearance of 23-year-old Lihle Khahla, who has been missing for five months.

According to her mother, Amanda Matanda, Lihle was sent to a nearby shop in Umtentweni on Sunday evening, September 21 to buy a few items, but never returned home. She has not been seen or heard from since.

Matanda said the family has been left distraught and confused by the lack of information surrounding her daughter’s movements that evening.

“We were told that Lihle was with people near Abingdon Spar in Umtentweni, but those individuals have never come forward to give us any information about her activities that day.”

She said it has never been so quiet near this shopping and restaurant area for a person to just disappear like that.

“As a family, we also heard that at some stage she stayed for a short while in the Umtentweni area with people, but no one has contacted us or met with the family.”

The family is appealing to anyone who may have seen Lihle, or who has any information that could assist in locating her, to come forward.

“At this stage, anything will help,” Matanda said.

Anyone with information is urged to contact the local police station.
