Margate police commander shines at national excellence awards
It was a truly memorable evening, especially for the 350 members recognised for excellence.
It was a proud moment for the South Coast and Saps Margate as the station’s vispol commander, Colonel Ntombizanele Rejoice Mzotho, earned an accolade at the Saps National Excellence Awards at Lemo Green Park in Bloemfontein recently.
She was the runner-up in the category Vispol member of the Year: Level 8 – 12.
The awards highlighted unity within the organisation and reminded both attendees and viewers at home of the profound reason members wear the badge and serve with professionalism and honesty.

Mzotho is more than deserving of the accolade.
She currently serves as acting station commander of Saps Margate on a rotational basis and previously won the KZN Provincial Excellence Awards in the same category. She has accumulated extensive experience across all aspects of policing during her 24 years of service.
She humbly acknowledges that her success is rooted in teamwork and has expressed gratitude to all members at Saps Margate, noting that the award recognises not only her efforts but the collective commitment to serving the community.
