Bal Vikas classes re-open in Port Shepstone

The Bal Vikas programme has been designed to help children to practise basic human values.

The Sri Sathya Sai Centre in Port Shepstone will be reopening its Bal Vikas classes on Friday, April 10.

The centre is situated on 1352 Venus Drive, Marburg and the classes are open to all children from the ages of six to 17 years-old. Classes are free and will be held every Friday, from 16:15 to 17:30. Remember, registration takes place at the Sai Centre in Marburg this Saturday (14th), from 14:00 to 15:00.

Bal Vikas was founded by Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba to enable a world-wide renewal of individual commitment to an active moral life. Bhagawan says: “You must study to become steady. See to it that the Divine Love in your heart is steady. The goal of education should not be to just acquire theoretical knowledge but to practically apply it in your life. Birds and animals lead life without studying; but your education must result in you developing a strong and good character. ”

The Bal Vikas programme has been designed to help children to practise basic human values: sathya (truth), dharma (righteousness), shanthi (peace), prema (love) and ahimsa (non-violence). These are conducted by simple teachings techniques such as prayer, group singing, meditation, story telling and group activities.
