Don’t miss Art-in-the-Park in Uvongo this Saturday

The ground rules stipulate that should inclement weather prevent an event from taking place, it will be postponed by a week.

The stormy weather last weekend necessitated the long-awaited March Art-in-the-Park event to be moved to this Saturday (14th).

When the exhibiting artists arrived full of hope at the park early last Saturday morning, they were met by a welcoming light breeze.

Come pop in and view all the fabulous art pieces on display.

While they were busy setting up, the breeze turned into a light wind and within minutes it escalated to a devastating gale force wind, unexpectedly turning over tables, easels and paintings.

Gazebos had to be anchored down with force and artworks had to be removed from display stands to prevent damage. At that stage it became evident that the situation was not going to change, and the exhibitors all agreed to throw in the towel and dismantle the exhibition.

The ground rules of Art-in-the-Park stipulate that should inclement weather prevent an event taking place, it will be postponed by a week until the next Saturday.
