NGOs in Ramsgate join forces to strengthen community impact
Everyone is working as a collective to make Ramsgate thrive.
A strong sense of unity was on full display at the recent Ramsgate Human Rights Day market.
It was a resounding success, drawing a strong turnout from the community and creating a vibrant, welcoming atmosphere throughout the day. Stalls were well supported, and the event highlighted the incredible spirit of local collaboration.
Carla Steenkamp from the Community Police Forum said the response from the community was both encouraging and inspiring.
“We are especially encouraged to have welcomed several new volunteers who have stepped forward to support local NGOs. Their involvement strengthens the impact of the work being done in our community. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who attended, participated and contributed to making the day such a success.
“In a powerful display of community solidarity, six of Ramsgate’s leading non-profit organisations have officially united under a single banner to ensure the village doesn’t just survive, but thrives.”
The six NGOs are: the Ramsgate Ratepayers’ and Residents’ Association, Ramsgate Tourism, the Community Police Forum, Ramsgate Urban Development Precinct NPC, Tidy Towns Ramsgate and the Ramsgate Lions Club – which have been working together over the past year through an NGO forum aimed at aligning efforts, sharing resources and addressing key challenges in the village.
