Sunrise Service in St Mike’s draws crowd

The service is always well supported.

Christians flocked to St Mike’s beach for the annual Sunrise Service, acknowledging the resurrection of Jesus Christ, on April 5.

It was a beautiful morning weatherwise once again, with the grassy area in front of C-Bali Restaurant packed.

Jono Downham and Shelley Downham lead the praise and worship.

Praise and worship was led by Jono Downham and his sister-in-law Shelley Downham, with Naidoo brothers on guitar, Ryan on electric and Liam on bass.

The main message was shared by Craig Wilcock, followed by communion.

As has become the norm, baptisms were held in the tidal pool, with those being baptised surrounded by witnesses – and clouds gathering as the morning became slightly overcast.

After it was said and done, children played on the beach and grass, and some teens headed out for an Easter Sunday surf.

Friends who don’t always get to see each other often were able to mingle and chat and enjoy some fellowship.
