Bendigo Waddle to bring people together in Southport

It's time to walk together, smile a little more, and remember why protecting nature matters.

A gentle coastal breeze, the sound of waves rolling in, and a cheerful line of people waddling along the shore. That’s what the Bendigo Waddle is about, a light-hearted, but meaningful community gathering set for this Saturday (18th).

The morning starts early, with registration at 07:30 and the waddlers setting off at 08:00.

Dressed in black and white, families, friends, and nature lovers will step onto Southport’s Blue Flag Beach not just for fun, but to support the endangered African penguin.

With their numbers steadily declining, this small act of solidarity becomes something bigger; it serves as a shared reminder that even simple moments can help raise awareness.

After the walk, the social side continues with warm buns, good conversation, and a chance to browse handmade items and raffle prizes.
