Music, food and local flair at Mother’s Day market in Bazley

Enjoy live music, artisanal food and craft stalls, picnic hampers and a scenic indigenous garden experience from 09:30 to 14:00.

Treat mom to something special this Mother’s Day (May 10) – with a relaxed coastal outing at the ever-popular Shangrila gardens in Bazley.

The Mother’s Day Market takes place from 09:30 to 14:00 at 56 & 58 Lagoon Drive, offering a laid-back day out filled with good food, live music and unique local finds.

Visitors can browse a variety of food and craft stalls, enjoy live entertainment, and unwind in the gin and craft beer garden. Picnic hampers will also be on offer – perfect for soaking up the tranquil surroundings, whether in the gardens or by the nearby beach.

At its heart, the market celebrates homegrown talent. Expect tables filled with homemade bakes, traditional coffee-and-cake favourites, and a wide selection of handcrafted goods. From woodwork to preserves, each item reflects skill, creativity, and care – offering something far more meaningful than mass-produced alternatives.

For gardening enthusiasts, the estate itself is a highlight.

Landscaped by renowned horticulturist Elsa Pooley, the grounds showcase indigenous beauty at its best, featuring flower beds, a rock garden, wetlands, grasslands, and established coastal trees. The area is alive with birds, butterflies and other wildlife, making it a peaceful escape into nature.

Proceeds from the market will go towards Pevensey Place and the Bazley Conservancy, supporting important work in the community.
