Port Shepstone Hindu Temple to honour stalwart families

Founding members and families are being sought.

The Port Shepstone and District Tamil Association, custodians of the Port Shepstone Hindu Temple, Siva Alayam, will host a landmark event soon to honour stalwart families for their invaluable involvement, dedication and service to the temple from its inception through the decades.

Secretary of the Port Shepstone Tamil Association, Radha Moodley said: “We are actively tracing founding members and families who contributed to the propagation and preservation of our Tamil culture and Hindu heritage through temple seva. The temple operated from Jai Hind State Aided Indian Primary School in the late 1950s and early 1960s and was officially established in 1961. We are calling on families who have any knowledge of this involvement and dedicated participation, or have old photographs to contact us. Your support in documenting this rich history is appreciated.”
