Muzi Fodo had wonderful support at the 100km event between Uvongo and Manaba.

“It was an awesome race and I am grateful to people who joined me in their wheelchairs to support me. The whole experience exceeded my expectations.”

Fodo, a motivational speaker, and founder of Diffabled (Differently Abled) Not Disabled, had hoped to participate in this year’s Comrades Marathon, but was unable to secure an entry.

Instead of letting the day pass, he decided to create his own challenge for a cause. As June is Men’s Mental Health Month, Muzi aims to raise funds and collect donations for a Medical Supplies Bank to assist people living with disabilities who cannot afford essential daily items.

Mfundo Chiliza from Gamalakhe joins the 100km challenge.

He was joined by his best friend and well-known TikToker Sanele ‘Khan Get Khan Tholakala’ Khan who is also wheelchair-bound.

Khan was unable to finish the challenge because he developed blisters on his right hand, but it did not stop him from supporting his friend.

Others also joined in the challenge on the day.
