Sacred fire ceremony at Port Shepstone Arya Samaj promotes unity

A major focus of the event was the development of youth and the preservation of Hindu culture for future generations.

The Port Shepstone Arya Samaj, in conjunction with Arya Samaj South Africa, successfully hosted a grand Bahukund Yajna recently. The event, held as part of the Hindu Active Campaign is an initiative of the Arya Samaj South Africa.

It brought together diverse Hindu organisations, community leaders, families, youth and well-wishers under one common prayer, in a moving gesture of unity, goodwill and shared commitment to the future of the Hindu community.

The programme commenced with flag hoisting followed by the Bahukund Yajna. The sacred fire ceremony was conducted by the officiating priest and president of the Arya Samaj South Africa, Pundit Kirun Satgoor.

The programme included the participation of community representatives from different organisations across Port Shepstone and surrounding areas, and was followed by devotional, cultural and educational items.

“The Bahukund Yajna symbolised the commitment of all organisations to work together, to rise from the same soil, and to serve the same community with shared purpose. It reminded all present that while organisations may have different names, histories and traditions, they are rooted in the same spiritual earth and must grow together for the benefit of society,” said Pundit Rajnie Singh.

A major focus of the event was the development of youth and the preservation of Hindu culture for future generations. The event also highlighted the urgent need to provide young people with value-based education, cultural pride and moral strength.

“The success of the Bahukund Yajna stands as a powerful example of what can be achieved when Hindu organisations come together in a spirit of humility and shared service. It was not merely a fire ceremony, but a public declaration that the Hindu community is ready to work together for unity, youth development, value-based education, cultural preservation and the upliftment of society,” added Singh.

The Port Shepstone Arya Samaj extends its gratitude to all organisations who attended and looks forward to collectively working towards the social and spiritual development of the community.
