The Shelly Beach Lions Club thanked the community and sponsors for supporting its successful Jail and Bail fundraiser held at Shelly Centre on July 18
The fun-filled event saw local personalities voluntarily ‘locked up’ before raising ‘bail’ through donations for the club’s community projects.

Among the ‘jailbirds’ were Scott Kvalsvig, Ben and Ciska van der Merwe, Reshica Rugbeer Naicker, Scot Scott and Anthony Vlok.
Stephen Herbst kept the crowd entertained as master of ceremonies, while Wolf Security and Saps took on the roles of arresting officers and prison wardens.

The club also thanked Shelly Centre for hosting the event.
Sam Bentley of Shelly Beach Lions Club said they were overwhelmed by the support received.
Throwing tomatoes at the jailers are Jane van der Merwe and Victoria Gutzeit.
“We are delighted with the response from the local community and our sponsors. The generosity and spirit shown by our ‘inmates’ made the day truly memorable,” she said.

Funds raised will assist the Shelly Beach Lions Club with its ongoing community service projects.
