Mawibhi Erasmus Nyawose was honoured for his many years of service.
Scottburgh Saps Community Policing Forum bid farewell to long-standing CPF member Mawibhi Erasmus Nyawose (81).
He was recently honoured with a Certificate of Appreciation for his many years of dedication and service.
Along with the certificate, Scottburgh CPF and Saps members gave Nyawose gifts and welcomed his family to the station for lunch with members and management.
Well-known locally as “Mayor Yase Mandawe”, he was described as a dedicated and passionate CPF member from Umdoni’s Ward 14 – Amandawe Mission.
CPF chairperson Huzaifah Ebrahim said he has personally worked with Nyawose for several years.
“As the CPF, we had a good relationship with him, and he was ever ready to assist us when the need arose,” he said.
“Regardless of his life being threatened, he continued to serve the local community year after year, as well as report crime without fear – for which we are thankful.”
Mawibhi Erasmus Nyawose is wished a happy retirement.
