Special day brings children together in Margate
Organiser Susan Farrell said the event was to remind children that they are loved and cared for.
Various donors came together to make it a day to remember for 28 children from Margate and Port Shepstone at the Margate Methodist Church on September 5.
Event organiser Susan Farrell said the day was also to celebrate a young boy, who is a cancer survivor and has gone through treatment for four years.

“We also had a queen and king of Ugu to grace us with their presence, but the reason for the day was to give these young children a day outside to remember.”
Susan added that she wanted to make it special and remind the children that they are loved and cared for.
Margate Child Welfare was part of the celebration and brought several children.

“My best wishes go to child welfare because the staff give their lives to care for the children and sometimes for little in return,” said Susan.
She has been holding similar events for the last 10 years.
Children were treated to hot dogs and pizza, and also received groceries.
