Prizes for Jai Hind’s top readers
It is hoped that the recently held reading competition will act as an incentive to encourage more learners to read widely.
The foundation phase department at Jai Hind Primary School hosted a successful reading competition last week.
Twenty two learners participated in the activity that was judged by Herald reporter Fundiswa Mzobe and Janè Heydricks who coordinates the Bookland Club at the school.
The judges were impressed with the levels presented by the learners. All learners were awarded with certificates of participation. Winners in each grade received book prizes. It is hoped that the competition will act as an incentive to encourage more learners to read widely.
The school is excited to be hosting its first ever Heritage Day concert on Saturday, September 23 on the school grounds. It promises to be an afternoon of fun. Stall spaces are available and entry are on sale. ontact the school on 039 302 0989 for further information.
