Izotsha Primary School was filled with Springbok hype and spirit with the build-up to the Springbok vs All Blacks Rugby World Cup final last Saturday.
The Grade 7s put together fun filled group chants and jingles, which they delivered during an assembly to cheer the Springboks for their semi-final match against England.
They challenged the Grade 6s to do the same for the build-up to the final match. Together with their teachers Carmen Neethling and Cathy Dickson, they rose to the occasion.
The teachers also put together a grade song with the same tune as the school song, but with words to cheer the Bokke on. Carmen also prepared a song for the entire school to participate in. The hype on the school’s last Bok Friday was electric and everybody thoroughly enjoyed it.
The U13A cricket team played an away game against Port Edward last Thursday. They won by 84 runs with Zack Apostolides taking 3 wickets. Top batsman and Man of the Match was Andrew Cornhill who scored 50 runs.
The focus for the next three weeks will be on academics as the Grade 4 -7 learners revise as curricular are completed and revision is done in preparation for the upcoming controlled tests and examinations.
