Busy sports week for Izotsha

Learners have been relatively busy with sport lately.

Izotsha Primary experienced yet another busy week on both the sporting and academic fronts.
The Grades 1-3 girls’ teams participated in hockey matches at Southcity Christian Schools and played exceptionally well.

The Foundation Phase participated in an inter-schools gala at Southcity and were crowned the overall winners.
The U13 hockey girls participated in a tournament at Creston College. They won two games, drew one and lost one.

The U11 boys’ and girls’ hockey teams participated in a pre-season hockey tournament at Creston College last Thursday. The girls lost two matches and won one. The boys drew all three of their matches.

The U11A cricket team played against Port Shepstone Senior Primary. Izotsha batted first, making 128/1 after 15 overs. Saien Chetty scored 38 runs and Ashley Gray 21 runs. Izotsha bowled PSSP all out for 18 runs. Saien Chetty took 4 wickets, Thomas Letchki 2 wickets and Tyr Johnson 2 wickets.

The U13 hockey boys had a fun-filled afternoon at Creston where they participated in coaching sessions with the Creston team.

The senior A cricket team played against The Highlanders at Creston last weekend. The Highlanders won by 8 wickets. Izotsha were 86/7 after 15 overs and the Highlanders were 88/2 after 11,3 overs.

Congratulations to Okuhla Mbhele, Erin Moonsammy and Dliana van der Merwe who were selected for the Ugu netball team, and to Ethan and Olivia Browne who were selected for the Ugu tennis team.

The school is extremely proud of Ella Bunge who has been selected for the KZN swimming team and Eve Steynberg who has been selected for the KZN U11 biathlon team.

Academically, learners are either being prepared for assessments or writing assessments.
