Port Edward Primary welcomed the start of spring with its annual ‘polar bear swim’ last Friday.

A number of brave learner volunteers from Grades R-7 took an icy dip in the school’s swimming pool and, despite the inclement weather, emerged with big smiles to enjoy some hot chocolate to warm them up.

The Grade 1s also enjoyed a successful Careers Day, where they got to dress up and talk to the class about what they’d like to be when they grow up.

Foundation Phase learners participated in a netball and hockey tournament at Creston College last Saturday.

Despite the windy conditions, learners performed extremely well and enjoyed their matches.
