Merlewood Primary showcases talent at enviro comp
A lot has been happening at the school lately.
Learners from Merlewood Primary School recently took part in the annual SEWEP Environmental competition held at the Uvongo Town Hall.
The event was hosted by Ray Nkonyeni Municipality, and the theme was waste to energy: creating energy efficiency.
Learners showcased their talents in oration, spelling, knowledge of environmental issues and their creativity in the art and craft category.
The school was placed fifth in the speech category and second in arts and crafts.
The school also received R1 000 for tonnage and the Most Consistent School Award.
In other news, the Grade 2 and 3 teachers attended a coding and robotics workshop last week. Educators gained valuable skills and are looking forward to the implementation of the programme.
