Hard work pays off

There was much excitement among the parents and children as no one knew what they had been awarded.

Margate Primary ended the year on a high note with the annual prizegiving for both the foundation and senior phases.

The children had practised for many weeks preparing their poems and songs. The choirs need a special mention; they were outstanding.

Grade R gave a sweet performance, and both Grades 2 and 3 recited poems.

The highlight of the senior awards must go to Masonwabe Bandezi, who was awarded Dux. He also achieved the highest in the grade for mathematics, technology, EMS, natural sciences and social science.

On the sporting side, both Benjamin Gasa and Vuyolwethu Yekani were chosen to participate in the SALGA KZN DSAC Games.

The sports boy and girl of the year awards went to Benjamin Gaza and Iyollah Sineke.
