There was a noticeable mixture of nerves and excitement at Merlewood Primary last Wednesday as parents dropped off their kids for their first day of school. For many, it was a day of new beginnings – new classrooms, new teachers and new friends.
Students were reuniting with old classmates and forming new friendships on the school’s playground.
Teachers and staff welcomed learners with warm smiles, helping to ease any first-day jitters.
As the learners settled into their new routines, chatter and laughter filled the corridors, signalling the start of a promising new year.
