PSSP reads aloud for change
Learners have also been encouraged to read aloud at home, and get parents involved.
“Ignite minds, change the world” was the theme governing the 14th annual World Read Aloud Day.
Port Shepstone Senior Primary had the opportunity to participate in this event and celebrate the joy and importance of reading aloud.
Each class and form teacher had a specific part of the day when they were engaged in reading from a favourite book together.
Learners and parents are encouraged to read aloud, even at home, which helps to improve language skills, retain knowledge and engage multiple senses.
