Enviro protection is a priority

Learners gained more knowledge about the environment, and contributed to cleaner grounds.

Learners from Umdoni Christian Academy‘s (UCA) environmental studies class recently embarked on an enlightening outdoor lesson.

This demonstrated that learning extends far beyond the confines of a traditional classroom.

The day began with a spontaneous decision to explore the beauty of the campus. Guided by their curiosity, the children walked along the road, identifying indigenous plants and discussing the vital role of soil savers and vegetation in protecting the environment.

This hands-on approach allowed them to connect theoretical knowledge with real-world applications, deepening their understanding of local ecology.

On the return journey, the learners took initiative by collecting litter, embodying the principles of environmental stewardship.

This simple act not only contributed to a cleaner campus but also instilled a sense of responsibility in the young learners.

Such experiences highlight the importance of outdoor learning in fostering a deeper appreciation for nature.

UCA believes that education flourishes in dynamic settings, encouraging learners to engage with their surroundings while nurturing a love for the environment.
