Hlanganani appoints new prefects

They received their badges at a special assembly.

Hlanganani Preparatory held a special assembly last Friday and handed out badges to prefects as well as appointed heads and deputy head prefects.

Head boy and head girl for 2025 are Alwande Ngubane and Amahle Magxala, and Thato Moloi and Anelisa Gumede are the deputies.

An exciting winter sports day was held for learners from Grade R to 7 recently.

All grades participated in activities, with the foundation phase doing fill up the bucket, dress up races and soccer, while the rest of the school focussed on soccer, volleyball and netball.

Parents also played in the netball and soccer matches against the teachers.

The newly formed drum majorettes entertained.

The school is grateful to Creston College Junior Primary which gifted them with fruit, collected by their learners on a Tuesday.

Bheki Shezi, the road crossing guard reminded learners about road safety. He is stationed at the robot to regulate traffic, slow down vehicles and stop drivers from entering the crosswalk, to ensure that children have enough time to cross the road safely. As a school crossing guard, he typically performs his duties every morning and afternoon that school is in session.

Also, learners enjoyed a fun, crazy socks day, with plenty of colourful, silly and fun socks, which encouraged self-expression and boosted their self-confidence.
