‘Legal eagles’ excel in moot court

Adding to the triumph, Mandisa Cele was named best speaker at provincial level.

Scottburgh High’s Nathanael Chetty and Mandisa Cele have achieved success at the provincial level of the National Schools Moot Court Programme (NSCMP) in KZN.

Competing against top talent from across the province on September 1, the duo secured first place in the Quintile 4-5 category, showcasing their legal acumen, eloquence and teamwork.

The NSCMP challenges learners to engage in simulated court proceedings, testing their ability to argue complex legal cases with clarity and confidence. Nathanael and Mandisa rose to the occasion, delivering compelling arguments and demonstrating a deep understanding of legal principles.

Their synergy and preparation paid off, earning them the top spot in their category and the admiration of judges and peers alike.

Adding to the triumph, Mandisa Cele was named best speaker at provincial level.

Her ability to articulate arguments with precision and poise set her apart, marking her as a rising star in the competition.

With their provincial victory secured, Nathanael and Mandisa have now set their sights on the national level of the NSCMP, where they will compete against the country’s finest young legal minds.

The duo thanks dedicated mentors Chanelle Pillay and Hazel Jodhun whose expertise and support were instrumental in preparing them for this challenging competition.

They also thank their parents for their encouragement.
