Izotsha Primary's chess players are champions
Over 50 learners from various schools participated.
Izotsha Primary’s chess team participated in a tournament at St. Martin de Porres on March 14.
Over 50 learners from various schools participated. Out of an overall four awards, Izotsha achieved three! Johan Engelbrecht achieved first position overall, Buhle Ngcwabe achieved third position overall and Abigail Rush was awarded best female player of the tournament.
A number of Izotsha swimmers participated in the Blue Ocean Aquatics Splash Gala. Izotsha won the most entries for the sixth successive year. Many of the swimmers achieved their personal best, a large number won medals and many were age group winners. There was much camaraderie among the swimmers with spirit-filled cheering.
Izotsha were the overall winners at the Southcity Foundation Phase relay gala, with eight new records being set.
Jayden Joubert has been selected to represent KZN and participate in the South African Primary School’s Athletics Championships in Cape Town, in the boys U10 80 metre event.
The U13A cricket team played against the SKZN President’s U13A team. They lost by 24 runs. There was some pleasing batting with Jesse Langton scoring 40 runs, Eli Struwig 16 runs and Grayson Greco 15 runs.
Congratulations to the following learners who have made the respective Ugu hockey teams: Sebastian Dutton (U14), Tyr Johnson (U13), Casey Bense (U13), Grayson Greco (U12), Tommi Johnson (U12) and Zara Moodley (U12).
The following learners have been awarded leadership positions: Eli Struwig (cricket captain), Skyla Nadauld and Peter Curtis (swimming team captains).
