DEAR Editor,-
I had the pleasure of flying with the new Cemair airline from Margate Airport to Oliver Tambo International Airport. The return flight on Friday, November 15, was due to land in Margate at 4.30pm, but was unable to due to rain and low cloud.
The pilots informed us that they would have to land at King Shaka International Airport instead, as the safety of the passengers on board was their main priority.
We landed safely in the heavy rain and the crew were outstanding in sorting out luggage, as well as transport back to Margate.
Miles van der Molen, Cemair’s CEO, contacted all passengers telephonically to offer his apologies on behalf of the airline. I sincerely hope that Cemair is well supported by the South Coast community, as they certainly offer a professional service.
