DEAR Editor,-
I firmly believe in giving credit where it is due and more so to parastatals, which are continually under public scrutiny and, more often than not, subject to severe criticism.
As a co-owner of the Ramsgate Spar since 2007, I cannot remember a peak season in the past whereby we did not experience power outages. The worst one in 2008 lasted for 37 hours and two years later, we had no power on Christmas Day.
This past season was a wonderful exception with no power cuts at our store and I believe that this was as a direct result of Eskom upgrading a breaker at Marina Beach during last year.
I would therefore like to express my heartfelt thanks and appreciation to all involved at Eskom locally.
