DEAR Editor,-
We, as the Sunwich Port Residents’ Committee, were saddened, but not surprised, to see the petty nonsense that was printed in last week’s Herald, by obviously embittered people who spend their idle time concocting Machiavellian ways to discredit our committee – and obviously reading too much Beatrix Potter!
We considered responding to the allegations, but have decided to rise above this juvenile behaviour by responding only to our residents. Please know that the door is always open and should you have any concerns, please don’t hesitate to use the different forums we have available to you, namely, the SMS line, BBM and Whatsapp groups, as well as email – or just pop in and visit one of us.
Although we are a few, we are doing a lot in the endeavour to keep our little community safe and happy. It’s a challenging task at times, however, we give of our spare time in an attempt to conquer some of these trials. Help is always needed and much appreciated, but scandalmongers and bitter blabbermouths, we evidently seem to have enough of.
Lastly, we will plan the next residents’ meeting when there is a need to report back to the community. We have no intention of wasting people’s precious weekend time to attend meetings, sit on a high chair and bluster hot air to inflate our own egos. Those days have passed.
