DEAR Editor,-
Two weeks ago, just after midnight I heard voices outside my window. I took ‘Mr Bat’ (baseball bat) and went outside to investigate. I walked around the house and saw two ‘bodies’ standing dead still in a corner of the yard. I walked straight towards them, but they did not move. About ten metres from them I started running, (ok, fast walk, sore foot) – not away, but towards them. They jumped over the wall and I just managed to get a good swing, smashing one guy on his hand. His towel got stuck on the wall and he came back for it. I now had a full swing and I am sure I broke his hand with that next shot. They ran away and I called the cops.
Ten minutes later two policemen from Port Shepstone arrived. Together, we searched all over and I even drove around till 4am looking for them. They had managed to steal a laptop by pulling it through a sliding door, but in their haste they dropped the laptop and broke pieces off the sides. People, be careful of the petty thieves – they are watching us move around in our homes. Open windows and sliding doors are their main targets. Make sure valuables are not in reach of open places.
Please, if you have bought an Acer laptop that is damaged on the sides, I will pay you back what you paid for it – No questions asked. It will be between us. Hush, hush …. no names. Oh, by the way, I am Louie and you can contact me at 072 3898918.
