DEAR Editor,-
I am not sure if you ever knew my late husband Clive Robert Emmerson, who used to work at Speedy Tyre and Fitment in Port Shepstone and was well known and much loved on the South Coast.
Due to complications arising from surgery after a burst appendix, he died in August last year at the age of 49 after being in hospital for nearly three months.
Clive always wanted children and we were only together for 15 months. I told him I would give him a child if it was God’s will and the day I told him I was pregnant, he was the happiest man on earth. He waited 21 years for the child God had promised him. A month later he was in hospital.

The whole community rallied together in support and prayer and we all believed that he would get better, but sadly this was not to be. We were all devastated when Clive died.
His only child and son, Anthony, was born on December 30 last year with family, friends and the community anticipating his birth. Clive would have been so proud of his son and would have been the best daddy on earth. Why he could not have that privilege, I do not know, but in the end his dream did come true and little Anthony has brought so much joy to so many people.
Clive truly was an angel on this earth who touched many people’s lives and his legacy will live on through his son.
GLENDA EMMERSON
