‘Customer Service Charter is significant’

I believe credit should be given where credit is due.

DEAR Editor,-

This is an open letter to HCM  Municipal Manager, Max Mbili.  Mr Mbili, your presentation at the launch of the Customer Service Charter and, indeed, the Service Charter itself are, I believe, the most significant step forward taken by HCM in promoting good partnership relations between the residents of the Lower South Coast and their municipality, HCM.

The commitments towards good service delivery contained within the charter, together with those additional commitments made by you in your presentation, meet most of the aspirations of the residents and ratepayers and, if adhered to by your staff will, I believe, go a long way towards achieving your, and our, vision for this area.

I understand that it will not be an easy task to meet all these service commitments on time, every time, but, once good service delivery becomes the norm, rather than the exception, it should become easier to do so.

I am sure I speak for the majority of the residents and ratepayers of the Lower South Coast when I say that we wish you well in your endeavours to achieve your goals and we assure you that we will, wherever practical and possible, offer you our assistance in doing so.
