DEAR Editor,-
We, Jacques and Herma Vermaak, parents of Ulrich Vermaak, would like to thank Damien Williams for the manner in which he handled Ulrich’s rugby injury on the Greytown U15 rugby tour over the past long weekend.
We received our first call just after 2pm to inform us that Ulrich had injured himself, that the medics were busy with him and that they would be transporting him to hospital for a precautionary check-up.
Damien constantly kept in contact with us to keep us updated on what was happening next, throughout all the calls he remained calm which for me as the mother made me feel at ease and not strike the panic button.
Damien is surely an asset to Sheppie High. Thank you, Damien, for the very competent, professional and caring manner in which you handled the situation. You are a great ‘father-in-loco’ to the rugby boys.
