‘How to log a complaint at HCM’

Numerous reports have been received that this system is not working.

DEAR Editor,-

To all South Coast Ratepayers’ and Residents’ Associations (RRAs). In terms of the HCM Customer Service Charter launched on February 27, all complaints to the service centre can be made via email to services@hcm.gov.za or the sms line 32061.

You should receive a response within 48 hours (excluding weekends) and it should be a response on how and when they will be addressed, from the department concerned, within 10 working days.

Numerous reports have been received that this system is not working. In order to monitor the effectiveness of the system, a database of all complaints made and responses from HCM needs to be established.

To do this, all residents are requested to notify local ratepayers’ and residents’ associations of the complaint, as well as the follow-up by HCM, when and if it occurs, giving the following information: 1 Details of the complaint; 2 date and time submitted; 3 date and time acknowledged (should be within 48 hours); 4 date and time of report back (should be within 10 days; and, 5 date and time resolved.

Contact your local RRA to obtain an email address to direct these details to. In the case of Uvongo, use hardusc@intekom.co.za.
