‘Stop the South Coast deterioriation’

Both signs fell over long ago and have never been replaced.

DEAR Editor,-

There is a huge pothole opposite Margate Police Station right at the traffic lights when one takes the slipway onto the national road towards Ramsgate. It is almost impossible to avoid and can only cause untold damage to vehicles. It’s been there for weeks and I would have thought that it is a priority.

Outside number two Hibiscus Avenue, the road has disintegrated due to a leaking water pipe. The pipe was eventually repaired, but the huge hole in the road has, as usual, been left to disintegrate further. The continuation of Hibiscus Ave, that is not named Hibiscus Ave, down towards the Sasol garage, is appalling and hardly negotiable. It used to be a one-way north into Hibiscus Ave with a stop sign, but both signs fell over ages ago and have never been replaced. This could result in a serious accident in the future.

Here’s hoping to see these repairs completed very soon.
