DEAR Editor,-
It is amazing that only my comment, out of many comments made by residents of this great suburb, is mentioned about the ‘gravestones’ at the entrance to our little town and I find it difficult to believe this incident took place nearly six months ago.
Not only did I not get the name of my accuser, but when I informed Arthur and Maria Matthee that I had located rocks for our entrance early in January, their comment was that the shopkeepers were against it as these rocks would be used as ammunition to break their windows.
It was also mentioned that my comments were made at a residents’ meeting This is untrue, as I have never attended or had faith in this committee and believe they are all attention seekers. I have since found out who my accuser is, and also found out that she is not part of this residents’ committee. I wonder why?
When I see any form of improvement from our so-called committee, they will have my full support, and do not blow ‘hot air’ as is happening now, without any improvement.
Most residents I have spoken to agreed that it was not beautifying our town at all, and it is for these reasons that nobody wants to join this committee, including my accuser.
I hope this puts an end to this incident, and if anyone else has comments about me, I would appreciate it if they would have the decency and guts to confront me personally, as they seem to know my address.
