‘Wish for a Vusi in every town’

Erika says thank you to Vusi, the car guard who restored her faith in humanity.

DEAR Editor,-

I really feel that I should share this with you because it is heartwarming to come across people who still have compassion for others.

At the Hibiscus Mall in Margate, there is a car guard called Vusi Mtshatsha and he is stationed at the disabled section of the parking lot. As we all know, that is the area where the aged, the slow and the crippled park.

Vusi tends to those people (including my mom) with so much love and patience, and never without his smile. He helps people get in and out of their cars, load shopping and will run to get a trolley for people who need it. He always greets with a ‘how are you today ma’m/sir’ and his goodbye is ‘hope you enjoy the rest of your day’.

Thank you so much, Vusi, for taking care of those who can’t do it themselves anymore. Wish for a Vusi in every town!
