DEAR Editor,-
One seldom hears compliments about the driving behaviour of minibus taxi drivers, but I was so impressed with the driver of NPS 62353 recently that I just had to share this experience with your readers.
Recently my wife and I were taking a leisurely drive to Durban behind the aforementioned taxi which was travelling at the maximum allowed speed of 100 kph. The driver stuck to this speed, indicated when he was about to overtake slow-moving vehicles and indicated again to return to the left lane.
We stayed behind this taxi for approximately five or six kilometres and the same procedure was followed all the time. I was disappointed when he eventually indicated that he was turning off at Craigieburn, because if he had stopped at the ultra city there, I would have liked to have met him to congratulate him on his driving.
However, I sincerely hope that he will read this letter and hopefully all other taxi drivers will too to see that good driving is appreciated by other road users.
To you sir, I salute and congratulate you. If only all drivers behaved like that on the road, there would be far fewer accidents and deaths on our roads.
