‘Coin operated toilets could solve the problem’

Visitors must be disgusted at the lack of basic facilities.

Hopefully CEO of Tourism, Justin Mackrory will see this letter and take note. It’s all very well having ‘tarted up’ Margate’s Panorama Parade with beautiful walkways, steps down to beaches and the refurbishment of the tidal pools. But, after an icy swim on a windy, grey day, where is one supposed to change out of a wet costume, let alone take a shower? I won’t even dare mention a toilet!

I’m sure visitors are extremely disgusted at the lack of basic facilities. The public toilets above the tidal pools are locked over weekends and holidays with water gushing out from under the doors of dysfunctional toilets, which a plumber could easily correct in a few minutes.

The pier, which has proven to be an expensive and useless folly, has plastic items and disposable nappies strewn around it and around the beach and this surely decimates fish populations? Can we not replace the locks on the doors with coin operated options that would in turn serve to pay for water usage?
