‘Officials do not know how to govern’

Tannet Street cannot be called a street any more because it seems as if the dumping ground for Manaba has been created there.

DEAR Editor,-

Because we own property in Manaba, we come down every now and then for a holiday and have noticed the further deterioration of the infrastracture, particularly in Manaba and Margate. It seems as if the people who are supposed to govern the area have no idea at all what governence is about? It also seems as if they are not proactive and only go into ‘reactive mode’ when there is a crisis.

One just has to look at Tannet Street, which cannot be called a street anymore, because it seems as if the dumping ground for Manaba has been created there.

I would like to invite all officials, who are supposed to be governing, to visit the Western Cape and see how it is supposed to be done. They could visit cities, as well as the smallest town and see what a pleasure it is.

WORRIED
