I AM always blessed with joy in helping my church build the body of Christ here on Life Row. But one of the best joys came when I helped a very young brother.
Once a Christian, he allowed his circumstance to pull him away from God. He felt the wickedness of his sin was too much for the church. Satan re-owned him, and Satan did not want to give that life back.
But God did not let me give up on this young brother. I dug in deep in the Word and in prayer.
I rejoice in telling you, this young brother finally lost his life – again — to Christ. He poured out his old life like a liquid offering to God. And just three weeks ago, he preached a powerful sermon in my church! Oh, I did share in that joy!
Faithful service can happen anywhere, and it must happen everywhere. Someone cannot get over his circumstance. Someone’s wickedness of sin blocks her from the church door. This person may sit next to you on the bus going to work. You may carpool with her. You may work right next to him each day.
Today at work, your faithful service is needed in rebuilding someone’s faith. Be His instrument in bringing that person back to Christ. Make Satan give up a life that does not belong to him. It will be the hardest work you do, and it will be work not done in a day.
But in the end, when that person loses his life – again — to Christ, you will share in that joy!
Reading
Philippians 2:17 (NLT) But I will rejoice even if I lose my life, pouring it out like a liquid offering to God, just like your faithful service is an offering to God. And I want all of you to share that joy.
Prayer
Father, in the name of Jesus, I pray. Thank You for showing me the joy of helping others see Your love and grace. Give me courage to help someone today – that lost person who needs You most. I yearn so much to share in that joy! Amen.
