NICO Rosberg made it six poles and three wins in a row at the Yas Marina Circuit, the last race of the 2015 season, in Abu Dhabi.
Rosberg has been on a roll since Lewis Hamilton won the championship and has fought back hard. He led the final race from start to finish.
Hamilton did push hard, particularly during the second stage of the race, but finished eight seconds behind at the chequered flag.
Kimi Raikkonen showed renewed vigour and drove a great race in his Ferrari to take third position.
His teammate Sebastian Vettel had a variety of problems in practice, and only started 15th on the grid.
However, in the race, he was relentless and fashioned his way through the field to eventually finish fourth.
He was on a completely different tyre strategy to Raikkonen and this worked very well for Vettel.
At Force India Sergio Perez drove another excellent race into fifth position while being continually harassed by Daniel Ricciardo in his Red Bull.
Nico Hulkenberg in the other Force India drove a steady race into seventh position.
Next it was Williams’ driver Felipe Massa in the only Williams to finish in the top 10.
His teammate Valtteri Bottas finished twelfth due to an altercation with Jenson Button as they crossed paths in the pit.
This required Bottas to come back to the pits for a new wing as well as serve a five second penalty.
Back in ninth place was Romain Grosjean who drove a hard race chasing Massa to the end. He will now lead for the new American Haas team.
Next in line was Daniil Kvyat followed by Carlos Sainz in the final point scoring spot.
Max Verstappen gave us another exciting race after flat-spotting his tyres then exceeding track limits during a duel with Button, thus Verstappen was 11th and Button 12th.
Fernando Alonso, driving the other McLaren, had an altercation with Pastor Maldonado at the first corner and was given a drive through penalty; he only finished 17th.
So ended an incident filled race at the Yas Marina Circuit.
By the time you read this, the drivers will have stayed on for a 12-hour test session with Pirelli Rubber on Tuesday this week.
I wish all racing enthusiasts a wonderful festive season and very best of a fun-filled new year!
