OPINION: ‘Council is not interested in a solution’

Illegal dwellings on the site are an eyesore and an absolute disgrace to the suburb of Sea Park.

DEAR Editor,-

I spoke to Cllr Tap Kruger about a situation at erf 42, Sea Park, whereon the so-called owner’s ‘cousin’ has been allowed to dump rubbish repeatedly. As he is currently on leave, he asked that I contact HCM directly (according to residents who live in the hovel on the stand), which I have done.

I have small children who now have to play around this potentially dangerous rubble! In addition the ‘owner’ cleared the site some 18 months ago, but the stand is totally overgrown once more. The council has obviously no intention of sorting out the problem of illegal dwellings on the site, which is an eyesore and an absolute disgrace to the suburb of Sea Park.
